About Battery Park City

As one of the most notable neighborhoods in Lower Manhattan, Battery Park City is a coveted gem of New York City that is still bustling to this day. It also happens to be one of the most relaxing places to relax in NYC, making it an ideal location for young, creative individuals who want to take it easy as much as they want to be active. Unlike most areas in Manhattan, though, it wasn't always this way, though—in fact, it would take until the late 1960s for Battery Park City to actually be developed into the beautiful community it is today, providing gorgeous views, monuments and museums to residents and visitors alike. Throughout the mid 20th century to modern day, the area would undergo a shocking transformation, bringing it from its status as a shipping center to the impressive Lower Manhattan community New Yorkers know and love today.

The museums in this neighborhood are some of the most notable places of their kind in NYC, allowing anybody to learn about a myriad of different topics. Take the Skyscraper Museum, for example—where else can you learn about the building that essentially made NYC what it is while also looking at vivid dioramas? For those who are more interested in family-friendly attractions you can count on, just stop by the SeaGlass Carousel at Battery Park to both entertain the kids and familiarize yourself with an important part of NYC history. Previously known for its iconic location at Coney Island, this unique carousel was moved to Battery Park to its current location, where it entertains guests to this day.

Battery Park City is also known for its incredible Cuban food, with many different restaurants to choose from. If you're looking for something truly authentic, look no further than this neighborhood!
